Getting it in on timeDeadlines

All articles, reports and news need to be received by the 15th of the month prior to publication. (Remember that there is no August edition.)

Submitting articles

We welcome articles of relevance to Kennington Village. We can sometimes accept articles of general interest; contact the Editor for clarification.

If you wish to submit an entry, but need help with writing it, the editor will be pleased to assist.

Contact the Editor for more information.

Format

We prefer electronic articles. We can accept the following; see the note below about logos and photographs.

  • Standard email
  • MS Word (.doc or .docx)
  • MS Works (.wks) — but this can be unreliable
  • OpenOffice (.odt)
  • Rich Text Format (.rtf)
  • Simple text files

If you are unable to submit any of these, then please submit as a PDF (.pdf) or on paper (printed, typed, or clearly handwritten).

Remember to include your name, and your contact number or email address.

Photographs and logos

  • You may send me logos or photographs for inclusion with articles, but I can include these only if we have space and if the quality is good enough for printing.
  • If you have a photo or logo included in your article, please send the original photograph or logo separately so that I can reduce its size while retaining the required resolution.
  • I usually will not accept photos embedded within articles — in particular, I don't use Microsoft Word and thus I often cannot use the embedded photos.
  • Please do not convert colour pictures or logos to black-and-white. Our on-line and full-size library copies are in full colour. In fact, any conversion can reduce the quality, so it is best to send the original untouched photo.

Submission Policy

  • The editorial committee's policy is "News Not Views".
  • We reserve the right, at the discretion of the Editor or the Committee, to edit or omit any news or information that is submitted for publication.
  • When making a submission, it is important to include your name and contact details for the Editor.
  • Articles are accepted generally only if relevant to the residents of Kennington Village, or are likely to be of interest to the general readership.
